Senescence was part of Articulate's final round of FERAL. FERAL was a progressive, overlapping exhibition designed for artists to experiment with placement of artwork in an architectural space that is already altered by the earlier installation of other artists' work, and which will was continuously altered as each new group replaces the earlier installation.

'Senescence' refers to the process of cellular degradation that comes with aging - in the case of plant senescence, it is seen largely in the changing colour of leaves.
